Dual-OS should describe a configuration choice, not imply that every cabinet switches operating systems instantly. A 55-inch transparent LCD showcase may be supplied with a Windows PC for demanding custom software or an Android player for controlled media and lighter applications. The correct platform follows the project’s application, device connections and support model.
Windows is often appropriate for custom desktop applications, specialist drivers, powerful graphics, SDK integration and external devices. Specify processor, memory, SSD, graphics, operating-system edition and recovery image. Lock the public interface into kiosk mode and manage updates through the customer’s IT policy.
Android can suit looping media, touch catalogues, web-based experiences and CMS-controlled campaigns. Confirm board, OS version, application compatibility, storage and network. A stable dedicated app is usually better than exposing a general browser.
A project becomes difficult when nobody owns operating-system recovery. Identify who maintains the Windows image or Android build, application, content and network. Keep a local attract loop available if an external service stops.

A technical exhibition may choose Windows because the cabinet communicates with sensors and a product simulator. A retail rollout may choose Android because each store needs the same approved touch journey and remote campaign update. These are different operating models even when the cabinet exterior is the same.
The enclosure must reserve service space and ventilation for the selected computer. Confirm USB, HDMI, Ethernet, WiFi, audio and any serial or GPIO interface needed. Do not finalize cabinet wiring from a generic dual-OS description; approve the exact host configuration.
Run the same acceptance journey on the final platform: power-on, automatic launch, media performance, touch, network loss, restart and staff recovery. Record the selected OS in the quotation, product page option and delivered configuration to prevent support confusion.
Only with a specifically designed multi-host system; normally the buyer selects one host configuration.
Both can support touch; software, drivers and management needs decide the choice.
Potentially, if space, power, heat and interfaces support the replacement and the application is retested.
Share the application, external devices, IT requirements and preferred management method. ZXTLCD can recommend a Windows or Android host for the 55-inch cabinet.
